‘ฮ่องกง’ นำทัพ ‘Arts in Hong Kong’ ฉลองจิตวิญญาณงานศิลป์ประจำฤดูใบไม้ผลิทั่วเกาะ

 

โลกศิลปะยังต้องให้ซีนกับความเจิดจรัสของฮ่องกงในฤดูกาลนี้ ที่ประเดิมทัพมหกรรมอีเวนต์ด้วยงานจัดแสดงสเกลยักษ์ Art Basel Hong Kong และ Art Central ไปเมื่อเดือนมีนาคมที่ผ่านมา และยังพร้อมนำเสนองานแสดสงศิลป์อีกมากมาย ที่จะมาสร้างปรากฏการณ์งานศิลป์ พร้อมโชว์ความโดดเด่นของภูมิทัศน์สุดสร้างสรรค์ของฮ่องกงให้ได้ประทับใจกันแบบไม่รู้ลืมไปทั่วเมือง เพื่อตอกย้ำจุดยืนในฐานะศูนย์กลางแห่งวัฒนธรรมระดับโลก

 

Art Basel Hong Kong และ Art Central…ทัพหน้าอีเวนต์งานศิลป์

 

งาน Art Basel Hong Kong ครั้งที่ใหญ่ที่สุดนับตั้งแต่ปี 2562 เป็นต้นมา

ฤดูกาลแห่งงานศิลป์เริ่มต้นขึ้นแล้วเมื่อ 2 สัปดาห์ที่ผ่านมา เปิดฉากแรกโดย Art Basel Hong Kong (23-25 มีนาคม) ซึ่งเป็นงานแสดงผลงานศิลปะระดับนานาชาติที่จัดขึ้นอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ที่สุดนับตั้งแต่ปี 2562 เป็นต้นมา โดยมีผู้เข้าร่วมแสดงผลงานจำนวน 177 ราย จาก 32 ประเทศและเขตแดน และงานศิลปะโลคอลของฮ่องกงเอง อย่าง Art Central (22-25 มีนาคม) ซึ่งได้รับการยอมรับว่าเป็นหนึ่งในเวทีที่สำคัญที่สุดในภูมิภาคสำหรับศิลปินหน้าใหม่ก็ได้จัดขึ้นพร้อมกันนี้ด้วย งานแสดงศิลปะระดับโลกทั้งสองนี้ได้ช่วยให้ฮ่องกงกลายเป็นหนึ่งในศูนย์กลางการแลกเปลี่ยนศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมแนวหน้าของโลก

 

ยิ่งไปกว่านั้น การท่องเที่ยวฮ่องกงยังได้ผนึกกำลังกับ Art Central เปิดตัว “Arts in Hong Kong Café”  ซึ่งผู้เยี่ยมชมจะได้พบกับคาเฟ่ที่ตกแต่งเหมือนกับหอศิลป์ร่วมสมัย เพื่อเสพผลงานร่วมระหว่างศิลปินทั้งในและต่างประเทศ

ศิลปะจัดวางอลังการจนลืมหายใจ และนิทรรศการต้องห้ามพลาดทั่วเมือง

นอกจากผลงานของฮ่องกงบนเวทีศิลปะระดับโลกที่ได้เฉิดฉายและประสบความสำเร็จอย่างต่อเนื่องแล้ว ฮ่องกงยังมีชิ้นงานศิลปะรูปแบบอื่นๆ ให้ได้ดื่มด่ำอีกทั่วทั้งเมืองตั้งแต่วันนี้ไปจนถึงสิ้นเดือนพฤษภาคม 

 

Harbour City เป็นที่ตั้งของผลงานขนาดใหญ่ 'GIANTS: Rising Up' ซึ่งนับเป็นครั้งแรกที่ผลงานชุด GIANTS ของ JR ศิลปินชาวฝรั่งเศส มาปรากฏตัวในเอเชีย โดยศิลปะจัดวางขนาด 12 เมตร x 12 เมตรนี้จัดแสดงภาพนักกระโดดสูงขนาดใหญ่ในท่วงท่าที่สง่างามกลางอากาศ ตัดกับพื้นหลังที่เป็นอ่าววิคตอเรียอันเป็นเอกลักษณ์ และแสดงความเคารพต่องานฝีมือแบบดั้งเดิมของฮ่องกงผ่านการใช้นั่งร้านไม้ไผ่มาเป็นองค์ประกอบ จัดแสดงตั้งแต่วันที่ 13 มีนาคม ถึง 23 เมษายน 2566

 

ในเดือนนี้ ArtisTree เปิดตัว ArtisTree Selects: Urban Rocks นิทรรศการเดี่ยวเพื่อนำเสนอผลงานประติมากรรมชิ้นใหม่ล่าสุดของ Polo Bourieau ศิลปินชาวฝรั่งเศสจากฮ่องกง ชิ้นงานประติมากรรมหิน 12 ชิ้น ที่รังสรรค์ขึ้นในเวิร์กช็อปแบบทัสคันของตัวศิลปินเองเมื่อปี 2564 ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจมาจากหินของนักปราชญ์ชาวจีน และทำการพินิจพิเคราะห์ร่องรอยถาวรแห่งมนุษยชาติบนโลกใบนี้ โดยการแสดงผลงานจะเริ่มตั้งแต่วันที่ 16 มีนาคมถึง 9 เมษายน 2566

 

Clouds, Power and Ornament – Roving Central Asia กำลังจัดแสดงอยู่ที่ CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) ที่ The Mills โดยนิทรรศการศิลปะสิ่งทอจากเอเชียกลางแบบครอบคลุมที่จัดขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกใน Greater China นี้ได้นำผลงานของ 26 ผู้รังสรรค์งานศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมมาจากภูมิภาคที่ไม่มีทางออกสู่ทะเลมาจัดแสดงไว้ เพื่อให้ได้ค้นพบว่าศิลปินและนักออกแบบที่นั่นใช้สิ่งทอเป็นเครื่องมือในการอนุรักษ์ ตอบสนอง และเชื่อมต่อความสัมพันธ์กันอย่างไร โดยจะเปิดให้เข้าชมได้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ ถึง 21 พฤษภาคม 2566

ผลงานสตรีตอาร์ตที่กำลังเป็นที่จับตามอง

สตรีตอาร์ตจะเป็นอีกหนึ่งตัวเอกในฤดูกาลแห่งงานศิลปะที่หลากหลายครั้งนี้ โดยจะยกกระบวนงานจัดแสดงที่โดดเด่นมาให้ถึงที่ เพื่อให้ได้ชื่นชมและดูความเป็นไปตั้งแต่จุดเริ่มต้นจนถึงปัจจุบันของผลงานแนวนี้

 

เทศกาลสตรีตอาร์ต HKwalls ได้ย้อนกลับมาจัดที่ฮ่องกงอย่างเฉิดฉาย
อีเวนต์ยอดนิยมที่จัดเป็นครั้งที่ 8 นี้จะเปลี่ยนย่านเซ็นทรัลและเวสเทิร์น ให้กลายเป็นแกลเลอรีกลางแจ้ง อีกครั้ง แถมยังได้เชิญ 6 ศิลปินผู้สร้างสรรค์งานศิลปะบนกำแพงและสตรีตอาร์ตชื่อดังระดับโลกมาฝากผลงานต่างๆ ไว้ในเมืองแห่งนี้กันเป็นครั้งแรกอีกด้วย

 

อีกหนึ่งไฮไลต์ริมท่าเรือคือ 'VLTRAPHOTONICS' ซึ่งเป็นงานศิลปะดิจิทัลขนาด 4,000 ตารางเมตร  จากฝีมือของศิลปินแนวสตรีตชาวสเปน J. Demsky ผู้จะใช้พื้นที่ส่วนหน้าอาคาร (Façade) ของ Tsim Sha Tsui Centre และ Empire Centre เป็นผืนผ้าใบให้ผลงานได้โลดแล่น งานที่จัดเฉพาะพื้นที่นี้นับเป็นการร่วมมือระหว่างเทศกาลสตรีตอาร์ต HKwalls และ Sino Group โดยจะมาทำให้อ่าววิคตอเรียในแต่ละคืนสว่างไสวด้วยหลอดไฟ LED กว่า 82,000 ดวงไปจนถึงวันที่ 12 เมษายน

 

K11 Art Foundation นำเสนอ City As Studio ซึ่งเป็นนิทรรศการกราฟฟิตีและสตรีตอาร์ตที่ใหญ่ที่สุดใน Greater China ชิ้นงานแต่ละชิ้นได้ผ่านการคัดสรรมาโดย Jeffrey Deitch เพื่อมาเปิดประสบการณ์ให้คุณได้ศึกษาถึงความเป็นมาของศิลปะกราฟฟิตี นับตั้งแต่การถือกำเนิดขึ้นในฐานะการแสดงออกที่เป็นการต่อต้านวัฒนธรรมในนิวยอร์กเมื่อช่วงทศวรรษที่ 1970 ไปจนถึงการขึ้นสู่จุดสูงสุดที่เรียกได้ว่าเป็นปรากฏการณ์ระดับโลก และนำเสนอผลงานของศิลปินผู้บุกเบิกอย่าง Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Fab 5 Freddy, Lady Pink และอีกมากมาย เข้าชมผลงานได้ตั้งแต่วันนี้จนถึงวันที่ 14 พฤษภาคม 

 

ตลอดทั้งปีนี้ ฮ่องกงจะรับหน้าที่เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมแบบหลากหลาย ที่จะมาเติมเต็มพลังแห่งความสร้างสรรค์และความโดดเด่นทั่วเมือง โดยกิจกรรมทั้งหมดจะเป็นการประเดิมเวทีให้กับการเฉลิมฉลองทางศิลปะวัฒนธรรมที่จะตามมาอีกมากมาย ตัวอย่างเช่น งาน Le French May ที่กำลังจะจัดขึ้น เพราะฉะนั้นแล้ว...เตรียมหาทริปมาเที่ยวฮ่องกงกันได้เลย!

Arts in Hong Kong: A Vibrant Citywide Celebration of Creativity this Spring

The eyes of the art world turn to Hong Kong this season as colour, creativity and vibrancy descend upon the city for the arts and culture scene. Headlined by large-scale fairs Art Basel Hong Kong and Art Central, the internationally renowned celebration of arts and culture sees a suite of world-class events, encounters and experiences taking place throughout the city, showcasing Hong Kong’s thriving creative landscape while reinforcing its position as a global cultural hub.

The Arts season kicked off last 2 weeks with Art Basel Hong Kong (March 23-25),  the biggest edition of the international art fair since 2019 which featured 177 exhibitors from 32 countries and territories. Art Central (March 22-25), Hong Kong’s homegrown art fair that has established itself as one of the region’s most significant platforms for emerging artists also took place concurrently. These two world-class art fairs have helped Hong Kong become firmly established as one the world’s foremost hubs for international arts and cultural exchange.

 

In particular, Hong Kong Tourism Board teamed up with Art Central and launched an “Arts in Hong Kong café” , where visitors walked into the contemporary art gallery like café to see the collaborative works of local and overseas artists.

Show-stopping installations, must-see exhibitions across the city

 

As Hong Kong’s stock on the global arts stage continues to go from strength to strength, a host of opportunities for artistic encounters can also be discovered around town from now till end of May.

 

	Harbour City is currently home to large-scale work ‘GIANTS: Rising Up’. The first of French artist JR’s GIANTS series in Asia, this 12mx12m installation depicts a larger-than-life high-jumper in graceful mid-flight backdropped by the iconic Victoria Harbour, and features a nod to traditional Hong Kong craftsmanship with the use of bamboo scaffolding, running from 13 March to 23 April 2023.
	ArtisTree this month has unveiled ArtisTree Selects: Urban Rocks, a solo exhibition featuring brand-new sculptural works by Hong Kong-based French artist Polo Bourieau. The 12 stone sculptures, made in the intimacy of the artist’s Tuscan workshop in 2021, are inspired by Chinese scholars’ rocks, and examine humanity’s indelible mark on the planet, running from 16 March to 9 April 2023.
	Clouds, Power and Ornament – Roving Central Asia is now showing at CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) at The Mills. Greater China’s first-ever comprehensive Central Asian textile art exhibition features works by 26 art and culture creators from the landlocked region to explore how artists and designers there use textile as a medium of preservation, response and cohesion. Available from 25 February to 21 May 2023.

 

 

Street Art in the Spotlight

 

Street art will be in the spotlight this dynamic art season, with prominent showcases examining the movement from its beginnings to the here and now.

 

	Street art festival HKwalls makes a vibrant return to Hong Kong. The eighth edition of the much-loved event will once again transform neighbourhoods in the Central and Western District into outdoor galleries, and has also invited six internationally acclaimed mural and street artists to create their first pieces in the city.
	Another harbourfront highlight is ‘VLTRAPHOTONICS’, a 4,000sqm digital artwork by Spanish street artist J. Demsky that takes over the façades of Tsim Sha Tsui Centre and Empire Centre. The site-specific work, a collaboration between HKwalls street art festival and Sino Group, will light up Victoria Harbour each night until 12 April with over 82,000 LED bulbs.
	K11 Art Foundation presents City As Studio, Greater China’s largest ever exhibition of graffiti and street art. Curated by Jeffrey Deitch, the show examines the history of the form from its emergence as counter-cultural expression in 1970s New York to its rise as a global phenomenon, and features works by pioneers Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, Fab 5 Freddy, Lady Pink and more. Catch this exhibition from now to 14 May.
